This utility is a Windows application designed to run in the background and start Internet Explorer at system startup. In addition, the set of configuration options are predefined, allowing you to select a homepage to return the browser to and whether new browser windows should be allowed or not. All that remains for you to do is configure the application to run at startup.
The program uses an embedded X window system to run all its graphical components. You simply have to specify the directory where the X-server is located, and the program will launch when the computer starts.
Totally Unattended Kiosk Features:
Totally Unattended Kiosk is not a windowing utility. It launches Internet Explorer as a standalone application (not as a system tray icon). This way you do not need to use the WinStartUp Manager to start Internet Explorer. Totally Unattended Kiosk is a one-way kiosk with a predefined homepage.
The Blaser Software Totally Unattended Kiosk is very customizable. You can set the homepage to your choice, set Internet Explorer to open the specified website by default, set Internet Explorer to stay at the last website visited when exiting from the kiosk, and set Internet Explorer to open a new browser window when exiting from the kiosk.
The Internet Explorer Session Extension prevents Internet Explorer from running if Internet Explorer is not a trusted browser. That way, Internet Explorer can not be bypassed and your URL can not be changed.
You can enable or disable the Internet Explorer Session Extension through the configuration program.
Totally Unattended Kiosk is an advanced, unattended, Windows application. You can choose from a predefined set of configuration options or you can use the configuration tool to create your own set of options.
If you use a Windows NT or Windows 2000 computer and the Blaser Software Totally Unattended Kiosk is run under Windows 95, the program will try to optimize the use of Windows 95 so you can run the application without any problems. The program works perfectly on Windows 98.
