R-serve is a free, community-driven web server featuring a tight integration between web servers and applications. A Rserve server enables middleware and application developers to benefit from the full power of Perl’s Web Server Interface (PSGI) within an easy to use Perl framework. This means no more compiling and making sure Perl is available every time you want to deploy your applications. R-serve supports the most important Web Frameworks/Middleware projects: Catalyst, Moose, Plack, and REST::WebService, among others.

Some C++ intro/interview questions for the author’s “Tight integration between web servers and applications” and you might want to share it with other friends who are looking for a job?

IBM has announced the release of the first edition of the IBM DeveloperWorks newsletter for software developers. This will be delivered weekly, on Tuesdays.

Each issue of the newsletter will feature a mix of articles, tutorials and advice from IBM developers on various topics they have found valuable in their development work, as well as great interviews with industry leaders, free software developers, or academics, who offer software developer tips and advice.

“In the last few years, software development has been transformed by the move to the cloud, increased visibility of user-based requirements and strong demand for mobility. The first edition of the newsletter will offer a wide variety of topics on how to best serve clients and users in a variety of scenarios,” said Matthew R. Power, senior vice president, Developer Services.

Jim Highsmith has written about this problem and mentioned that we have a lot of issues that are left uncompleted in our house. That’s good for this week’s challenge (or dare). It’s your turn to pick a house and start fixing the problems you find.

And we have a prize for you. The winner will receive some Metasploit privileges.

So, here is the deal:

Read Fixing Problem #1

Use the comments under the post to outline the problem and give some details about how you tried to solve it.

After reading the article, use your brain to decide how you will fix the problem using Metasploit

Simple. Fast. Efficient.

jsircbot is simple. It doesn’t try to be smart. It just does what you want and then that’s it.
jsircbot is fast. It doesn’t try to be complicated. It is designed to run efficiently and not to draw a lot of CPU. It’s small, extensible and capable of being easily upgraded.
jsircbot is efficient. It doesn’t try to process more than it needs to do. It only listens to what it needs to know.

Too bad this is not true and I think it’s what make jsircbot a poor project for a channel.

Even if all those are true I still think it’s good for a single user and not for a channel.

What’s New in the Jsircbot?

jsircbot is an IRC bot written in JavaScript.
jsircbot does not require a browser to run, but it does require the Node.js server. You can start and stop server by running `node bot.js` in console.

How jsircbot handles servers information:
It sends the information by means of two CTCP commands:
– CTCP2: The full list of servers and channels in a format similar to: `/SERVER LIST`
– CTCP2INFO: An array of servers, each server-channel map contains information about servers in that channel (Server, Nick, Channel Name, Host, Port, Server Status (Online/Offline),
– CTCP2IRC: An array of servers, each server-channel map contains information about servers in that channel (Server, Nick, Channel Name, Host, Port, Server Status (Online/Offline), WebUI Status (Online/Offline)).

This is how jsircbot gets data from the servers:
– When you send `/QUERY` to server a pattern matching will be done. If there is no match to /QUERY the CTCP2 will be sent.
– If there is a match to /QUERY the information of server will be sent.
– If there is a match to /QUERY the information of all channels that server is in will be sent.
– After finishing matching the information will be sent.
– If you send `/QUERYINFO` to the server all information will be sent.
– When there is no match to /QUERYINFO the server will reply with the information.
– When there is a match to /QUERYINFO the server will reply with only information.
