Yes, you can use UISlider to alter the crop size. But there is also an easy workaround for that.

I tried the setCameraOverlayView: but the crop area’s aspect ratio (the ratio between the width and the height) didn’t change when I changed the UISlider.
Here’s what I did to get it working.
First, use UISlider to set the value of aspectRatio.
Second, call this method:

self.cropImage.contentMode = UIViewContentModeScaleAspectFit;
}
Finally, change the view hierarchy by adding a transparent UIView to your image view. Then change the height of that view in the viewWillAppear method:
